Privacy policy

ShopFloorJobs (shopfloorjobs.com) is operated by L&J LLC, a Michigan company (“we”). This page explains what we collect, why, where it’s kept, and how to get it deleted. We don’t sell personal information and we don’t run third-party ad trackers.

What we collect from you

• Account: your email, name (optional) and a salted hash of your password. If you sign in with Google, your Google email, name and account ID. We never see your Google password.
• Plan answers: what you tell us in the survey (background, teams, industries, location, preferences) so we can match roles. If you give a ZIP, city or address, we turn it into map coordinates on our server to show miles to each job; it isn’t shared or shown to anyone.
• Saved jobs and your outreach tracker: jobs you save and the people you log as contacted, with stage and dates. This is your private list; nobody else sees it.
• Résumé: if you upload a PDF, it’s stored privately and is only reachable through the share link we give you. Anyone you send that link to can open it. You can replace the link or delete the file at any time, which turns the old link off. When you upload, our server reads the text automatically (no person reads it, and it isn’t sent to an AI service) to pick out your years of experience, skills, industries and home area, and uses that only to rank your own matches. Deleting the résumé deletes that too.
• Email updates: if you join the email series, your email and which day you’re on. Every email lets you stop.
• Employer posts: work email, company, role details and the verification status.
• Messages you send through the contact form.
• Usage events: first-party records of actions like “viewed a job” or “finished the survey”, tied to your account if you’re signed in. We use them to improve the site. We don’t store IP addresses with them.

People shown on job pages

Next to jobs we show people who appear to work on that team: their name, headline and a link to their public LinkedIn profile, taken from public search engine results. We do not scrape LinkedIn, collect contact details, or message anyone ourselves; candidates decide whether to reach out. If that’s you and you’d rather not be listed, ask to be removed. It takes effect immediately and we won’t list you again.

Jobs

Job listings come from employers’ own public career sites, or from employers who post directly after verifying a work email. We link to the employer to apply; we don’t receive your application.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. Your browser also stores some preferences locally (for example, survey answers before you create an account and your tracker if you’re signed out). We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Where data is stored

The site is hosted on Vercel. Account data, plans, trackers, employer posts and résumé files are stored with Supabase in the United States. Emails, when we send them, go through our email provider. These providers process data only to run the service.

How long we keep it

• Account data: until you delete your account or ask us to.
• Résumé files: until you delete or replace them, or your account is deleted.
• Employer posts: 60 days live, then kept for our records unless you ask us to delete them.
• Usage events: up to 24 months.

Your choices

• Delete your résumé anytime from your plan page.
• Ask us to delete your account and everything tied to it, or to send you a copy: use the contact form and pick “Privacy”.
• Stop email updates from any email.

Children

ShopFloorJobs is for job seekers 18 and older. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change how we handle personal information, we’ll update this page and the date above.
